for every one thing you can't do

"For every one thing you can't do, there is one thing you can do." - Alex

I think this shall be my motto for 2006. If only I would not despare when something does not work out the way I want it to. If only I would remember that there are a lot of things I can do. If only I would remember that "when you are on your path, and it is truly your path, doors will open for you where there were no doors for someone else" - Joseph Campbell. And I have chosen. I have chosen the boy, I have chosen my career, I have chosen my family, I have chosen my friends. And I want to work on that. Don't get distracted. Focus. If only I would remember that "everyday the choice is presented to us to live up to the spirit that is in us, or deny it" - Henry Miller.

I am going to welcome the new year with some truly wise words by Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to learn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch...to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."

I will try to be braver this year what with every decision and step that needs to be taken. Richard Bach reminds me again that I have truly found my friend for life but was blinded until now.
"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes, a farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes is certain for those who are friends."
I am not afraid anymore of taking decisions. I know we will meet and meet and meet again and again. Anywhere. Always. I love you boy.
